If you are interested in a career in Clinical Radiology, there are several activities you can participate in to build your experience and portfolio.
There are several radiology conferences and meetings for medical students and resident doctors, with opportunities to present posters, and win essay competitions. There are links to these, as well as much more useful information, on the Radiology Cafe website.
There is an "Imaging Research Network" (IRN) which meets regularly to share ideas, develop research skills, and promote collaboration between clinical and academic colleagues. Each session focuses on a different aspect of research, supporting staff at all stages of their research journey — from those just starting out to experienced researchers. Join the mailing list here.
The IRN will collaborate and offer any opportunities for research to the "Leicester University Medical Research Society" (LUMRS).
This podcast explores academic radiology as a career.
Join us for Student Selected Components 'SSC' in Year 3 and Year 5; applications for these are via the usual SSC application scheme. We will not facilitate any clinical attachments outside of the SSCs.
If you wish to take part in radiology audits or case reports, please complete this form. We will review the information and contact you with details of any available opportunities.
Please note that the time taken to complete an audit or case report will be additional to your timetabled curriculum activities, so be mindful of whether you can realistically commit the time before applying.
Join the Leicester Radiology Society and participate in the annual teaching series and conference.
